Welcome to the New Church of Southwest Florida

Emergency Food Pantry

We believe that charity, that is, love to the neighbor consists in the performance of uses. Also, that there is no charity apart from works of charity; it is in its practice or use that charity consists. We believe loving the neighbor and perceiving delight in charity except in its exercise, or in use; is creating the life of the heaven right here on earth;  this we believe is the kingdom of the Lord, because this is the kingdom of mutual love, a kingdom of uses. (Emanuel Swedenborg, Heavenly Secrets n. 997)

The Fort Myers Beach community responds to the needs of people in economic hardship. Over the years, The New Church of Southwest Florida has received donations of non-perishable food items in collection boxes located at businesses along Estero Blvd in Fort Myers Beach. In addition to the collection boxes the Beach Pub with its annual Mullet toss, the Surf Club with the annual Turkey Testicle Festival  raise money for our emergency food pantry and VIP After School Program. The food items and monies helps us provide assistance to local families in need, the homeless, and those needing a little help with their food budgets. We also provide food baskets and toys during the holidays.

The New Church of Southwest Florida is listed with the United Way of Lee County. (Direct link below)

We welcome food donations throughout the year. We ask for donations of nonperishable food items at our Taize Worship, Christmas Eve Worship and other special events.
